Snow Nationals, 2019

RMIT Redbacks Team

All the fun and ferocity of the regular Nationals, just on snow! The Nationals Snow event attracts student athletes from all over Australia in a fierce battle competing in ski and snowboard disciplines.

High Performing and Elite Athletes are encouraged to register for Snow Nationals. Funding up to 100% is available to successful applicants.
 
Event dates: Sunday 25 August to Friday 30 August, Thredbo NSW.

Sports offered

  • Freestyle: Moguls, Skier Cross, Slopestyle, Rails
  • Alpine: Slalom, Giant Slalom, Super G
  • Snowboard: Giant Slalom, Super G, Boarder Cross, Slopestyle, Rails
  • Cross Country: Individual, Team

How to apply

Get your name on a team list so you don't miss out - there's no commitment required at this stage. Log in or create your RMIT Link account, search for the representative team you wish to apply for and select ‘Join’.

Once you've joined the squad, a Team Manager will contact you with further details regarding team trials or selection.


 

High Performance Athletes

Up to 100% subsidies available for High Performance Athletes at Snow Nationals

The guidelines to be considered for this funding are:

  • You compete at the highest level/league in your sport in Victoria
  • You are a representative in a state or national team
  • You are involved in REAP (RMIT Elite Athlete Program)
  • You have in the past represented your sport in a state or national team/league

Each application will be assessed independently. 
50% and 100% subsidies will be available to athletes.


 

Details

Cost breakdown:

  • RMIT Package – approx. $320
    Includes: 5 x nights’ accommodation, team dinner, team merchandise
  • UniSport Australia event registration – approx. $150
*Prices subject to change

Additional costs to consider:
  • Thredbo Lift ticket (discount event ticket available), $380 for 4.5 day ticket.
  • Transport to/from Thredbo

Important dates:

  • Recommended date to apply for the team: 14 June 2019
  • Team selections will take place in mid June
  • Payment and registration deadline: 19 July 2019
  • Event is 25 - 30 August, 2019
Eligible students must be enrolled at RMIT in 2019.
