Lacrosse Club

Training at A’Beckett Square

Hello! Welcome to the RMIT Lacrosse Club!

Our club provides the opportunity for people of all skill levels to play lacrosse, learn new skills, and get active in a friendly and social environment.

No equipment? No worries! All members are provided with a lacrosse stick for weekly training and matches. No experience is required, everyone is welcome!

Our club is committed to embracing every background, experience, gender, sexuality, ability, age, culture and religion

The club competes regularly in the University Lacrosse League; a 5-a-side, mixed, non-contact, social competition that is held during the university semester. Training sessions are held weekly on Wednesday nights where all are welcome for a practice, a chat and a feed.

Other events held throughout the year include multiple tournaments such as the LV Pride Cup, UniLax 6's, Melbourne Indoor Lacrosse League, Southern Shield tournament, and social activities such as movie nights, trivia and tenpin bowling.  At UniNationals RMIT have gotten Gold then silver last two years respectively.

Training

We train on Wednesdays at A’Beckett Square (in the city, behind building 80 - (use your navigation app or check the "lost on campus" app to find it)) [For March 2024 this will be different - check our socials or send us a an email or message].

Games

On Mondays meet at the RMIT tram stop at 5:45 pm (on Swanston St in front of building 80) and then play games at Melbourne Uni - you can also meet us there, at the Melbourne Uni hockey courts, before 6:10 pm, but we love going together as a team (especially your first time going)

We will be posting details about games and training on our social media, and we have a private Facebook group where we will be posting teams each week.

Can't make it?

If you can't make games or training some weeks that is completely fine - we are all busy, and we would love to have you here, but if you can't get there just let us know - there will be polls asking who can attend each game on socials weekly.

Playing Tops / Uniform

You can buy a playing top here: <Link>  and come pick it up from us at training/the game, if you don't have one and don't want to / don't have the spare cash right now to buy one we completely understand - just wear a white top to Monday Games so we can see who's on our team.

you can view the size guide for the tops here: <Size Guide> - if we are out of or don't have your size you can reach out to us via email.

Wear any shorts/leggings/pants etc you feel comfortable doing some exercise in - red or black match the team colours but it doesn't matter too much what colour you have.

Stay in touch!

Follow our socials to keep up to date on any changes, and feel free to email lacrosse.club@rmit.edu.au or DM us on Insta/Facebook if you have any questions.
