Most major Universities in Australia have a dedicated baseball club however RMIT have partnered with Watsonia Baseball Club to be their affiliate baseball club.
You may be interested in continuing to play having moved locally or perhaps keen to learn or regain your love for the game. Either way, Watsonia Baseball Club can assist.
Watsonia has been a strong member of the Melbourne Winter Baseball League since 1974. A family oriented club based at Loyola Reserve in Bundoora, the club fields six senior teams and junior teams across the Under 13, 15 and 17 age levels. The club also has an U/11 rookie ball program, and tee ball program where players over the age of six can learn the basics of the game in a fun and safe environment on a Saturday morning.
Our senior teams compete from A Grade through to E Grade so all welcome.
With a dedicated committee and a talented group of club coaches led by former ABL and State Junior coach Jarryd Rogers, Watsonia Baseball Club is always keen to invite interested new members to come and try baseball during the winter season that commences in April.
Watsonia has both male and female members who are either currently or previously played and coached for Australia at international level. An Olympic sport, Watsonia has four current Australian Baseball League players, and five state women’s players at our club. We also have a lot of summer softballers and cricketers with experience from local club to premier cricket. Many of our cricketing members have also found benefits from “keeping their eye in” over the winter months as well as a significant improvement in their fielding and throwing techniques.
If you’re interested in joining our club, please get in touch with Murray, our Club President.
