UniSport Nationals, Div 1 & 2 - 2022

RMIT Redbacks Team

The UniSport Nationals event is the premier tertiary sporting competition held annually. UniSport Nationals provides an opportunity for student athletes to represent the RMIT Redbacks in a multisport event attracting thousands of athletes from across Australia. In 2022, the Div 1 & 2 Nationals will be held in Perth during Semester 2.

Elite and High Performance Athletes are encouraged to register for UniSport Nationals. Funding up to 100% is available to successful applicants.
 


Event dates: Sunday 25 September to Saturday 1 October, Perth WA.

Sports offered

RMIT will be accepting applications for the following sports in 2022, including Mens, Womens and Mixed/Open divisions.
 
  • Badminton Men
  • Basketball Men & Women
  • Beach Volleyball Men, Women & Mixed
  • Cycling Men & Women
  • Futsal Men & Women
  • Golf Men & Women
  • Hockey Men & Women
  • Lacrosse Mixed
  • Netball Mixed
  • Sailing Mixed
  • Tennis Men & Women
  • Tenpin Mixed
  • Ultimate Frisbee Mixed

RMIT will not be sending a team in the following sports in 2022:
  • AFL Men & Women
  • Badminton Women
  • Baseball Open
  • Cheerleading & Dance Open
  • Football Men & Women
  • Lawn Bowls Open
  • Rowing Men & Women
  • Softball Women
  • Touch Football Men & Women
  • Volleyball Men & Women

Get your name on a team list so you don't miss out - there's no commitment required at this stage. Log in or create your RMIT Link account, search for the representative team you wish to apply for and select ‘Join’.

Once you've joined the squad, a Team Manager will contact you with further details regarding team trials or selection.


 

Elite & High Performance Athletes

Up to 100% subsidies available for High Performance Athletes at Div 1 Nationals

The guidelines to be considered for this funding are:

  • You compete at the highest level/league in your sport in Victoria
  • You are a representative in a state or national team
  • You are involved in REAP (RMIT Elite Athlete Program)
  • You have in the past represented your sport in a state or national team/league

Successful applicants will be determined based on which teams are attending the event. Each application will be assessed independently. 
50% and 100% subsidies will be available to athletes.

Cost breakdown:

  • RMIT Package – $ Cost TBC
    Includes: Return flights, 6 x nights’ accommodation, 2 x team dinners, team merchandise
  • UniSport Australia event registration – approx. $200
*Prices subject to change

Additional costs to consider:
  • Sport uniform (for new team members)
  • Transport at the event
     

Important dates:

  • Trials and team selections will take place in April/May.
  • Deposit payment and registration deadline: 5 August 2022
  • Nationals Event is 25 Sept - 1 Oct, 2022
Eligible students must be enrolled at RMIT in 2022.
