The Northern Raiders Gridiron Club is the affiliated American Football club for RMIT students.

Description

The Northern Raiders are a hard working club who play a no nonsense brand of football. The club has a great field, staff and roster of players. The club prides itself on being active in the community and is always on the lookout to broaden the horizon of the sport.

The club was formed in 2011 and has grown steadily on and off the field. 2011 saw the Raiders take out the inaugural Division 2 championship in the very first opportunity. 2012 saw the development of a junior program to compliment the seniors and 2013 saw the introduction of a full kit Women’s program

In 2014 the club the club participated in the top division for the first time. In 2017 the club is playing in Division 2 of the Gridiron Victoria American Football League.

Where

The Northern Raiders home ground is the L.E Cotchin Reserve in Reservoir.

Pre-season training (January–March)
Monday, Wednesday and Sunday.
K.P. Hardiman Reserve, Plenty Road, Reservoir.

In-season training (April–August)
Monday, Wednesday and Sunday.
L.E. Cotchin Reserve, Massey Ave, Reservoir.

Competitions

The Northern Raiders Gridiron Club play in the Gridiron Victoria Division 1 competition with games played in Melbourne and also in regional centres like Geelong and Bendigo.
