Artland

Artland

Artland is RMIT's annual group exhibition of site-specific art installations on Brunswick campus. This year Artland will be part of the Melbourne Fringe Festival program and the MoreArt Public Art Festival

Showcasing RMIT student talent from varying courses and locations, Artland presents selected student works across the spectrum of visual, ephemeral and installation art.

Selected artists receive seed-funding and industry mentorship to help develop their work. Each year one artist selected to receive the MoreArt Support Award, going on to feature in the following year's MoreArt Public Art Show with support from Moreland City Council.

In its eighth year, Artland is a group exhibition of site-specific art installations in and around RMIT’s Brunswick campus. Open to all RMIT students from all courses and campuses, applicants are invited to submit work across the spectrum of visual, ephemeral and installation art. Artland exhibits a variety of mediums including, but not limited to photography, textiles and sculpture. Artists are encouraged to develop site-specific works that consider this year’s theme: Thresholds.

A curatorial panel will select seven final works for Artland, plus one 2D work, to be exhibited on a prominent billboard in Brunswick. Selected Artists will receive $400 seed funding to support the production of their work, one-on-one sessions with an industry mentor, opportunities to test their concepts on their selected site, and a prize will be given to one outstanding work.

Please see the application guidelines for available sites and specifications.

In 2017, eight students will be selected to undertake the Artland Artlab as part of the Melbourne Fringe Festival, exhibit in Artland, and will also feature as part of the MoreArt Public Art Show program.
